Suncor – Voyageur Upgrader, Fort McMurray, AB
Responsibilities included FEED and detailed engineering for Diesel, Gas/Oil, and Naphtha hydrotreaters using UOP licensed technology.
Syncrude – Mildred Lake UE-1 Upgrader, Fort McMurray, AB
Participated in the Upgrader Expansion Project to increase Syncrude’s production of sweet synthetic crude by 98,000 barrels per day with a primary focus on overall process simulation and the design of the hydroprocessing reactors.
Esso – Antwerp Refinery Expansion and Optimization, Belgium
Responsibilities included FEED and detailed engineering for the Hydrogen Unit, Catalytic Cracking Unit, Viscosity Breaker Unit, Merox and Hydrotreater units. Executed refinery configuration and optimization study based on high sulphur content.
Statoil – Mongstad Refinery Expansion and Optimization, Norway
Responsibilities included reviewing actual refining capacity versus a 60% feed increase using process modeling and benchmarking on major production units. Field test runs to guide equipment rating checks. Also participated in detailed engineering for debottlenecking and expansion on several units at the refinery, including Crude Unit, ATM Distillation, Vacuum Unit, Hydrocracker Unit, Naphtha-Jet and Gas Oil Hydrotreaters, Delayed Coker, Sulfur and Tail Gas Plants (350 tons/day), Gas Recovery, & Gas Sweetening Amine Units.
Valero Meraux Refinery – Refinery Expansion and Optimization, Lousiana
Responsibilities included HYSYS modeling, P&ID editing, and rating checks on equipment benchmarking about integrating SIG’s new feed to existing atmospheric distillation units and FCCU.
Gas Processing
Petronas Lily Gas Plant (200 MMSCFD), North East BC
Modeled the Flare Network in a Symmetry Flare Model. Determined the sizing basis and the governing case for a network of 85 relief valves and 15 blowdown valves. Facilitated and participated in a multi-relief PHA to determine credible multi-relief scenarios. Evaluated the flare system’s capacity to process the multi-relief scenarios and provided recommendations to resolve excessive Mach velocities.
Keyera Wapiti Compressor Station Program, Grande Praire, AB
3 Stand-alone Compressor Stations (60 MMSCFD + 90 MMSCFD + 120 MMSCFD) each with Liquids Extraction, Dehydration, and VRU Gas Processing.
Offshore Gas Processing
Shell Mensa offshore platform located 140 miles south-east of New Orleans.
When brought onstream in July 1997, at 5,300 ft water depth Mensa was the deepest production well in the world. 300 MMSCFD gas production was achieved in 1998.
Responsibilities included FEED and detailed engineering of MEG regeneration modules, on-platform commissioning and start-up support.
Kerr-McGee Redhawk field offshore platform located in Garden Banks, deepwater Gulf of Mexico.
When brought onstream in 2004, 120 MMSCFD gas production was achieved.

LNG
Sempra – Port Arthur LNG Facility and Pipeline Network, Texas and LA
Participated as Subject Matter Expert in feasibility studies, pipeline study, and FERC application.
Santos – LNG Expansion and Optimization, Gladstone, Australia
Participated in feasibility study for optimized cascade LNG process. Designed safeguards against the formation of liquids or hydrates in the networks.
Oil Processing
Devon Jackfish SAGD Facility
Producing 35,000 BPD of Bitumen, the facility included process units for Separation, Oil Processing, Water Treatment, Boiler Feedwater, Steam Generation, Diluent Blending and Wellpads.
Suncor Mackay River SAGD Facility
Producing 38,000 BPD of Bitumen, the facility included process units for Separation, Oil Processing, Water Treatment, Boiler Feedwater, Steam Generation, Diluent Blending and Wellpads.
